Bath College has around 2,300 full-time students and 6,000 part-time students who are developing knowledge and skills to support them in life and work. Students of all ages choose Bath College for its diverse range of courses and varied student population, along with excellent facilities and a supportive learning environment. We offer a wide variety of programmes including career-based courses, pre-university courses, and general interest courses. The College is proud to have two campuses offering a range of academic and vocational courses.
Our City Centre Campus in Bath gives students the opportunity to be in the heart of Bath’s vibrant atmosphere and is easily accessible from Bristol, Wiltshire and the surrounding areas. Courses available include art and design, photography, business, hospitality and catering, hairdressing, complementary therapy, health and social care, IT, media, music and sport. Also based in Bath is the Care Academy, Shrubbery Restaurant, Bath Theatre Academy and our Hair and Beauty Studios & Spa Academy, where students are gaining industry experience in the centre of the city.
At the Somer Valley Campus, based in the picturesque Somerset countryside, our students study arboriculture, animal care, veterinary nursing and motor vehicle maintenance. In addition, the Somer Construction Centre caters for 500 students and apprentices studying bricklaying, construction, carpentry and stonemasonry, as well as plumbing, electrical installation and refrigeration.
Bath College also offers excellent opportunities for young people to earn and learn on the job, as it is the largest provider of apprenticeships in Bath & North East Somerset. The college currently offers apprenticeships in a wide variety of vocational and technical areas including, (but not limited to), Accountancy, Business Administration, Catering, Customer Service, Hospitality and a range of Manufacturing Technology, Engineering (Plumbing, Electrotechnical, Refrigeration, Manufacture), Building and Construction. The College also delivers more specialist provision such as, Horticulture, Stonemasonry and Veterinary Nursing.
At Bath College we are proud to have strong and well established relationships with local, regional and national employers. Our key stakeholders include; the Local Authority and NHS Trust, national and international organisations, as well as local small to medium sized employers. Apprenticeships are offered to employers from across the city and the wider region with a number of delivery models to meet the needs of employers including traditional day release. We are proud to have served a number of companies over a long period of time.
Graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted in January 2018, Bath College’s provision continues to grow in strength and value, offering increasingly high quality opportunities to the young people and businesses in its local demographic. As a result of this strong and continuous growth, the College is able ensure that apprentices achieve their goals, fulfil their ambitions and reach their full potential.
